The locations look gorgeous, the action sequences so far have been gripping, and the performances have been compelling

I definitely didn’t have Eddie Redmayne as The Jackal on my streaming series bingo card for this year, but here we go. It’s great to see a classic novel given such a lavish production, and it all plays out really well as far as I’m concerned.

On the other hand, it’s always good to see Charles Dance flex his acting muscles

Like other reviewers, I don’t buy Lashana Lynch as the MI:6 agent and feel she was miscast. Úrsula Corberó is wonderful to watch on screen, although I fear she was a little underused.

Otherwise, a good piece of old-school cloak and dagger entertainment
