During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcast crew finds themselves pressed into service covering a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes

All the performances are believable, the comedy in the right places, and the pacing and flow that doesn’t leave you wanting to see the exit before you know it.

They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points

For someone who didn’t really know the story, I was genuinely interested in the details of what happened.

Some might find the lack of a change of scenery tiresome, but I think it worked in this case

I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and to feel like they were there on this eventful day.

Making you think without preaching

They touched on the political and emotional elements nicely.

The interspersing of footage from the actual event, including footage from the broadcast, definitely draws you more into the experience

While it’s not a film I’d really like to watch over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece that I would recommend to friends who like films like this.
