Charles, a retired man, finds a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a retirement home. Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “Mole agent.” The documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way: “I have to call my mother.” In our show, we tried to do the same thing with the tone: is our show basically fostering the feeling of wanting to call our mothers?
I loved it!
I was expecting a clichéd comedy about a certain secret, its follies & soon. Instead we are treated to a series about a man who not only helped others but actually helped himself heal from the loss of his wife.
It was worth it because you wanted to see how it worked – Who stole it etc
This great series wasn’t full of laughs and funny cheesy lines, I found myself very emotional in some parts because of the way the topics were handled – Like a resident having memory issues. However, it wasn’t serious enough to make you feel depressed or bored while going through the episodes, but it kept the series watching.
The acting was great, the movies and the locations are well set up
I really hope they do a second season & that wonderful mix of laughter, emotion, storyline, locations and actors, like they did in Charles’s previous detective adventures, like they did in this one.
