This was the worst film I’ve ever seen
Tale
A mosaic-style comedy that follows a woman’s life as time passes in her long-term, occasional BDSM relationship, a low-level corporate job, and a bickering Jewish family. The film features Joanne Arnow’s real-life parents playing Anna’s parents.
The acting kills me
The camerawork, the offbeat deadpan delivery trying to be unusual, the lighting, nothing seems to fit. The film tries to portray how dull and boring life can be, and I guess I can see that, but the writing is very on the nose about it.
That just finalizes this piece into something I’ll definitely stay away from
People go to acting school, and yet I watch this film, where people talk like sixth graders, so the viewer understands every word. And then the mundane non-existent story of everyday life with weird nudity scenes.
My advice: don’t watch it!P
I probably won’t give this director another chance, sorry, you missed out! S.: Aside from what Lena Dunham said or did in public, ‘Girls’ was a great show and this movie seemed to try so hard to copy that.
